Since the sand and gravel resource is located below the ground water elevation, pumping of the ground
water is necessary. Pumping will occur continually during resource e~draction efforts from the aquifer. It
is anticipated that the pumping rate will be in the range of B00 gallons per minute. Ground water will be
pumped to the existing drainage Swale and 24 inch culvert adjacent to interstate 70 and ultimately
discharged into the Colorado River. Discharge and Well Permits will be obtained from the State of
Colorado prior to exposing or pumping the ground water. Acceptance of the pumped discharges by the
Colorado Department of Highways will be required prior to the issuance of a Discharge Permit by the
Colorado Department of Public HeaRh and Environment.
~.:
gr
r 'a,y~~
~ p 1~11ri ~'G1VY.~'y~ 1
N V VDU ® V 2QD~
~ar>d.function Fia'd Office
fJ'fvpfon of FA;rers & Geo-ogg
Rev.
