Seeding will normally be done in the fall when temperatures and adequate soil moisture are present, <br />typically between September 15 and Odober 15. Seeding will be accomplished by either broadcasting, <br />or by using a seed drill. If broadcasting is used, seed rates will be doubled. Due to the nature of the <br />backfill matertal and topsoil found in the area, hay, straw or fiber mulch is considered to be necessary. <br />Mulching will be accomplished with a clean certified weetl free straw at a rate of 2000 pounds per acre <br />either crimped or'Yacified° at 200 pounds per acre. "Biosol" fertilizer will be applied at a rate of at least <br />1000 pounds per acre. <br />• • <br />Material <br />RatelAc. <br />"Biosol° Fertilizer 1,000 lbs. <br />Fiber Mulch 2,000 lbs. <br />Tackifier 2001bs. <br />Straw Mulch a rox. 100 bales <br />WEED CONTROL -Weed control measures will be employed for control of any noxious weed species <br />identified by the Mesa County Weed and Pest Control Department throughout the life of the mine. <br />Control measures will also be used if the growth of weed species on the reclaimed area threatens further <br />spread of the weeds to nearby areas. Herbicides will be of those that are approved by the Soil <br />Conservation Service and applied by a licensed herbicide applier at a time recommended by the local <br />weed control authority forthe sper~c weed to be treated. A Weed Control Plan will be utilized as follows: <br />^ Asemi-annual inspedion of all disturbed areas by trained weed control personnel. <br />^ Treat any identified infested areas with herbicide recommended by the local weed control <br />authorities. <br />^ Insped the infested area after 2 weeks and re-apply herbicide as required. <br />^ Insped the site at 4-week intervals afterthe second inspedion and re-treat as required. <br />^ Any weed control refuse left from previous year's growth will be burned on site. <br />~'~c~'~CrC~7 <br />~S. t~ N ~ ~~~5 <br />L~'Nt+EiAD iir 1i uL31 d.5 ':a .i'.,.'St !,~ <br />Rev. 06/07/06 <br />
