approximate 8 inch by 0 inch size. Following primary crushing, the
coal is discharged onto a conveyor belt which transports the coal
to a storage bin. The coal is then gravity discharged into highway
trucks and hauled to the secondary crusher facility.
The secondary crusher and train load-out facility is known as the
Gossard Loadout and is located in Section 22, Township 4 North,
Range 93 West.
Included in Gossard Loadout facility are a coal stockpile area, a
truck dump, a secondary crusher, a covered conveyor, a crushed coal
stockpile, and a train load-out. Construction was completed on
this facility in 1979. In 1987 a covered reclaim conveyor was
added.
The coal stockpile is utilized for storage of the coal hauled from
the primary crusher facility. Aepending on the amount of coal in
the "live" stockpile and/or the operating status of the secondary
crusher, coal can be placed in temporary storage or directly
discharged into the truck dump. Trucks, the reclaim conveyor,
and/or a front-end loader can discharge coal into the truck dump
hopper. When coal is stockpiled at a distance to the West of the
truck dump, front-end loaders reclaim the coal and feed the reclaim
conveyor which transports the coal directly to the truck dump
hopper. Feeders at the bottom of the hopper will discharge the
coal into a secondary crusher. The secondary crusher will reduce
the coal to an approximate 1 1/2 inch by 0 inch size. After
secondary crushing, the coal is conveyed on a conveyor belt for
discharge through a stacking tube into the crushed coal stockpile.
The coal is then fed by gravity directly into unit trains which
pass through a corrugated steel tunnel located beneath the crushed
coal stockpile.
All the conveyors are completed with walkways on both sides of the
belt and are enclosed to control emissions. A bag house is
installed at the secondary crusher building. Additional fugitive
dust control measures for the coal crushing handling, and Loadout
facilities are discussed in Section 2.05.6.

2.05-18
Fevisia~ Approved ~
Fc~,~isio~ No. ~
