• Laboratory. Production Office. Personnel Offices and Chance Room Facility
Colowyo maintains a multi-purpose facility covering approximately 2 acres
in Section 34, Township 4 North, Range 93 West. This facility contains
two structures as shown on the Existing Structures - South Map (Map 22).
Coal analysis is performed in the laboratory portion of the larger
structure. Production crews have locker, shower, and toilet facilities
provided in part of the larger structure. The remainder of the larger
structure is used for training, safety, crew assembly, and production
management offices. The smaller structure contains offices for the Human
Resources Department. Included in this area is a paved parking lot used
for all production and maintenance personnel based in the area and some
company owned small vehicles.
Drainage from this area is collected as shown on Map 12 - Hydrology'-
South Map and Map 12A Gossard and Mine Maintenance Areas.
Crushing and Loadout Facilities
•
The coal crushing and Loadout facilities include four separate
facilities: (1) primary crusher; (2) secondary crusher and train
Loadout; (3) stoker coal crusher; and (4) stoker Loadout siding.
The primary crusher facility is located in Section 3, Township 3 North,
Range 93 west, as shown on the Existing Structures - South Map (Map 22).
Included in the primary crusher facility are a raw coal stockpile area,
a truck dump, a primary crusher, a covered conveyor, a storage bin, and
a truck load-out. This facility was constructed in 1979.
~ Coal is typically hauled from the pit in 170-ton rear dump haulage trucks
to the primary crusher site. The coal is then dumped directly into the
truck dump hopper, or stockpiled. The truck dump is equipped with dust
control spray bars. The coal from the stockpile is fed into the hopper
by front-end loaders. Feeders at the bottom of the truck dump hopper
discharge the coal into the primary crusher. The primary crusher reduces
the raw coal to an
2.05-17
Ravisi;,n,-,fir ev~7-- V z 2 ~'-
Re'~~ isio:', :.~.
`12
