Main Office
The main office for the Colowyo operation is located in Section 23,
Township 4 North, Range 93 West. The office building was
constructed in 1977 and contains approximately 9,000 square feet.
The office houses Colowyo's administration, engineering, environ-
mental, accounting, and payroll departments.
Shog and Warehouse Facility
Colowyo maintains a shop and warehouse facility at the operation
covering approximately 30 acres in Section 34, Township 4 North,
Range 93 West. This facility consists of several structures as
shown on the Existing Structures - South Map (Map 22).
Major mechanical repair work on the mobile mining equipment fleet
is performed at the shop facility. A welding facility is also a
part of the shop. The warehouse contains an inventory of equipment
parts for use in the comprehensive maintenance program. Outside
storage of the larger parts is used because of the limited covered
building space. Adjacent to the shop is a maintenance office and
• an employee-change facility. The maintenance office is utilized by
foremen, clerks and other individuals employed at the mine.
Employees use the change facility in this location before and after
their shift to change either into their work clothes or back into
their street clothing. Shower facilities are provided in the
change complex. Additional structures in the complex include a
diesel fueling and gasoline fueling station for both the large
mobile mine equipment and the mine pickup truck fleet, and a
650,000 gallon diesel fuel storage system. Mobile equipment and
employee parking areas are also provided at the complex. Several
coal stockpile areas as shown on the Existing Structures - Map,
(Map 22) are found near the shop facility to provide for temporary
storage of the coal. A reclamation storage building, storage yard,
and a records storage building are also located in this area.
Drainage from the shop and warehouse complex is collected as shown
on the Map 12 - Hydrology - South and Map 12A Gossard and
Maintenance Areas. This structure has been designed as shown under
the Ponds, Impoundments and Diversions Section of 2.05.3.

2.05-16
