• by at least 0.96 feet in order to meet the 4 foot requirement. The
spillway currently extends 20 feet below the toe of the dam but
this extension will require erosion control material. The east and
west side slopes need to be repaired since both currently exceed
the 3:1 requirement. Cracks in the top of the dam were also
observed during the inspection but the depth of the cracks could
not be determined.
9/l0-F -- The elevation of the spillway crest needs to be reduced
by at least 1.35 feet in order to meet the 4 foot requirement. The
spillway also needs to be extended 20 feet below the toe of the dam
and erosion control material should be placed in this extension.
All side slopes of this pond appear to meet the 3:1 requirement.
9/10-G -- The elevation of the spillway crest needs to be reduced
by at least 0.52 feet in order to meet the 4 feet requirement. The
spillway also needs to be extended 20 feet below the toe of the dam
and erosion control material should be placed in this extension.
The side slopes on the east and southwest side of the pond need to
be reduced to meet the 3:1 requirement. Currently the east side
slopes are as steep as 2.64:1.
9/10-I -- The elevation of the spillway crest needs to be reduced
by at least 1.96 feet in order to meet the 4 foot requirement. This
modification will also correct the inadequate residual freeboard at
peak flow that currently exists. The spillway needs to be extended
• 20 feet below the toe of the dam but erosion control material is
not required in this extension. The side slopes of the pond meet
the 3:1 requirement but the embankment upstream slope is steeper
than the 2.5:1 requirement and will require modifications. A crack
in the top of the embankment was observed during the inspection but
the depth of the crack could not be determined.
9/10-K -- The elevation of the spillway crest needs to be reduced
by at least 1.71 feet to meet the 4 foot requirement. This
modification will also correct the inadequate residual freeboard at
peak flow that currently exists. The spillway needs to be extended
20 feet below the toe of the dam and this extension requires
erosion control material. While the majority of the side slopes
meet the 3:1 requirement, there is an area on the west side of the
pond that has a slope of 1.6:1 that needs repaired.
9/10-L -- The elevation of the spillway crest needs to be reduced
by at least 2.04 feet. This modification will also correct the
inadequate residual freeboard at peak flow that currently exists.
The spillway needs to be extended 20 below the toe of the dam and
this extension will require erosion control material. The
embankment upstream slope needs to be reduced near the spillway as
it is currently 2.25:1. Also, the south side slope of the pond
needs to be reduced as it is currently 2.4:1. During the inspection
a crack was observed in the top of the embankment but the depth
could not be determined.
• 9/10-M -- The upstream and downstream embankment slopes need
