• material. A crack in the top of the dam was observed during the
inspection. The depth of the crack could not be determined at the
time of inspection.
41-G -- The elevation of the spillway crest needs to be reduced by
at least 0.23 feet in order to meet the 4 foot requirement. Also
the spillway needs to be extended 20 feet below the toe of the dam
and this extension will require erosion control material. All
slopes of this pond appear to meet the specified requirements. A
crack in the top of the dam was observed during the inspection but
the depth of the crack could not be determined.
41-H -- The elevation of the spillway crest needs to be reduced by
at least 1.4 feet. This will then correct the lack of residual
freeboard at peak flow that currently exists (2' minimum
requirement.). The spillway needs to be extended 20 feet below the
toe of the dam and this extension will require erosion control
material. All slopes of this pond appear to meet the specified
requirements.
OSP-A -- This pond was actually built in Area 31 and is now
designated as 31-I. This pond was still holding water at the time
of inspection.
OSP-B -- The spillway crest elevation of this pond needs to be
reduced by at least 2.53 feet. This will result in a maximum pond
• depth of 1.45 feet. The spillway modification will also correct the
inadequate residual freeboard at peak flow that currently exists.
The spillway needs to be extended 20 feet below the toe of the dam
and this extension will require erosion control material. All
slopes of this pond appear to meet the specified requirements.
Several cracks were observed in the embankment at the time of the
inspection. The depth of these cracks could not be determined.
OSP-C -- This pond will drain out of the back of the pond before it
drains out of the spillway. However, you have informed me that this
pond was a pre-existing pond and CYCC was not responsible for the
installation of this pond. Therefore, it is my understanding that
CYCC is not responsible for removing or repairing this pond.
31-A -- The spillway crest elevation needs to be reduced by 1.54
feet. The spillway also needs to be extended 20 feet below the toe
of the dam and erosion control material will be required in this
extension. The majority of the slopes meet the 3:1 requirement
except for one area on the southeast side of the pond which
measures 2.57:1. The material obtained from reducing the spillway
crest elevation should be used to correct this slope. Reducing the
spillway crest elevation will also correct the inadequate residual
freeboard at peak flow that currently exists. A crack in the top of
the dam was also observed during the inspection. The depth of the
crack could not be determined at the time of inspection.
. 31-B -- The spillway crest elevation needs to be reduced by 1.74
feet. The spillway also needs to be extended 20 feet below the toe
