EXHIBIT D -MINING PLAN (continued)
• Precautionary measures to ensure that the water remains in the channel and does not seep into the
pit are described in the section on mitigation measures to be employed.
One crossing through the channel area will be needed for efficiency of the operation. This crossing
is shown on Map E.~cltibit C-2 and the corrugated metal culvert to be employed will be designed to
carry the required flow and will be placed in an area of few wetland plants, no trees and a wet area
width of approximately 4 to 7 feet. The impacts to the channel and its vegetation should be
minimal.
Once the interior of the property (the terrace) has been completely mined out, a portion of the
northern berm will be mined because the landowner does not desire to leave a large berm between
the mined out terrace and the flat area immediately to the north. The approximate final contour of
the berm (and the entire site) is shown on Map Exhibit F- Reclamation Plan Map. The area around
the permanent spring will not be disturbed. Once the north berm is mined to its final contour, the
• topsoil from the southern berm will be used to reclaim the final pit area.
•
Carol Ann Permit CDMG Application 12
