3.0 CONSTRUCTION P111N
Construction of the fan site will begin as soon as all necessary permits
are obtained and as weather allows. To minimize the impacts of
construction to the area, the upland diversion ditch and culvert under the
road will be constructed prior to constructing the fan site. Construction
for the fan site and re-routed light-use road will follow. Earthwork will
be done in accordance with good engineering practices and acceptable
construction methods. All areas of fill will be compacted to appropriate
A.5.7.M. Standards. Grading will conform to acceptable limits for erosion
protection and slope stability. Fill to be placed will be earth, rack, or
a combination of bath, free from ice, snow and excessive organic material.
•
Prior to construction of the fan site and re-routed light-use road, brush
and organic materials will be removed and disposed of in an acceptable
location. Following that, topsoil or seedbed quality material will be
stripped from these areas to an average depth of 18" and stockpiled in an
area immediately south of the fan site as shown on SGf-02. The topsoil
stockpile will be stabilized using the permanent seed mix described in
Table 4.4.5.A -Permanent Seeding Mix of the Mt. rxmnison M and R Plan.
Temporary sediment control will be used where necessary during
construction to minimize runoff from the disturbed areas. Temporary
controls may include straw bales, temporary berms, ditches, Visqueen, etc.
