• 2.0 RUNOFF AND SEDIMENT CONTROL PLAN
Upland drainage from the area above the fan site as shown in SGF-O1 will
be diverted away from the fan site by a ditch as shown in SGF-02. The
upland runoff diversion ditch will discharge into a natural drainage which
empties into Sylvester Creek. An 18" CMP will divert the flow under the
light use road as shown in SGF-02. See Appendix A for ditch design
details.
The fan, as discussed in Section 4.0 of this application, will be
constructed on a concrete pad surrounded by a gravelled parking pad.
Total disturbance for this project, exempting the re-routed light use
road, will be approximately 0.6 acres. Due to the small amount of
• disturbance, a small acreage exemption from construction of a
sedimentation pond is requested for this project. Erosion from the pad
site will be minimal due to the relatively level grade of the pad and the
fact that the pad will be gravelled. Filter fabric will underlay the
gravel. The gravel and filter fabric wilt not only serve to minimize
erosion but will also serve to retain most if not all of the sediment,
should any be generated by runoff. Mine water will not be discharged at
this site, thus no co-mingling of mine water with precipitation-generated
runoff will take place.
If a sediment pond was to be constructed for the fan site, the disturbance
necessary for pond construction including the pond, the outlet works from
• the pond to Sylvester Creek as well as the access road to the pond would
be more than that necessary for the fan pad itself.
