Revised Octo'cer, 1905.. <br />• 4.0 RECLA.MA.TION AND BONDIPrG <br />West Elk Coal Company proposes to return all disturbed lands <br />to rangeland and wildlife habitat land use to be consistent <br />with the surrounding present use. The fan site, power line <br />and light-use road will be maintained for the life of the <br />mining cpesation. <br />4.1 Reclamation <br />Following cessation of mining activities at Mt. Gunnison, the <br />Pan, concrete pad, graveled pad, re-routed portion oP the <br />light-use road, power lines and poles will be removed and the <br />portal sealed as described in Exhibit 3.5.2 entitles Portals <br />and Entries in the Mt. Gunnison M and R Plan. Existing fill <br />from the fan pad will be backfilled against the seal of the ' <br />portal to eliminate any portal or depression in the hillside <br />• and not returned to the original contour due to the limited <br />fill available. Reclamation of these areas will be conducted <br />as described in Section 4 of the Mt. Gunnison M and R Plan. <br />The vegetation of the area to be disturbed is a mixed shrub <br />community. See Exhibit 2.3.1.A-Vegetation Types and Land Use <br />Map as well as Section 2.3.3.3 and 2.3.5.7 in the Mt. Gunnison <br />M and R Plan for a description of the vegetation types in the <br />areas to be disturbed during this activity. <br />Reclamation success will be evaluated as described in Section <br />4.6.1 of the Mt. Gunnison M and R Plan using the mixed shrub <br />reference area parameters of cover, productivity, and species <br />diversity as the standards of success. <br />• <br />
