I would rate the variety of this particular site as Common.
,.,_ _ .,
I
The user sensitivity of this landscape can be classified as an area that
is seldom seen by the general public or not seen. Parts of the area can
be seen from a minor travel route.
' •~
G:..
j',
9 :`
i ...'
i -:
;, _:
~.;:.
i- .
~ "":
r ."
:;
~..i
i .F:..
. ,,y
t ::
:. ~:
Co`::-
Using this criteria, the recoam[ended visual [luality objective is modif:icntion.
The area is generally out of view of [he town of Creede br[t may be seen
shortly and in the middleground and back,~,round di^.tances from Hi;;hway
149. Only very small portions of the area are viewed and are not within
any focal area. The proposed structures and developments are no[ of
such magnitude that they would be noticed as deviations in the landscape
from those distances.
The elevated pipeline from the chlorine plant to the tank may be slightly
visible from the highway approaching Creede, but with proper color
treatment, should conform to the background landscape. This structure
will nut be skylighted.
The Visual Absorption Capability of the project area is low on-site due
to the operuze~s and lack of overstory vegetation. However, this is not
a critical factor because the area is generally not viewed fn the foreground
except by *_he flomestake operators. The VAC from m.iddlegro[nd and back-
ground dtstances is hih due to the topographic scree*[ing and the area's
superior position in relation to key o~jsucver positions.
(`laticna~ '
,,.~, t;[andEd;~ p;sF[ii.l
C[ ~.;
1~cGc1'JED
r, n7 0
r ^ :;
;y
\,; j ;~
p~
En9~
C+.a~k
,RZtep!ia'
"_"" "- 131 -
