EXHIBIT E - Reclamation Plan
The fill areas to the north and southwest of Area I are to be filled
approximately 3 ft. with finished grade 1.5 feet above the 100 yr.
flood elevation. Riprap around the fill areas is to be placed on a
3:1 maximum slope in the areas indicated on the photomap. A Reno
mattress or randomly placed riprap is suggested with the slope also
being reseeded. The western 1.45 acres of Area I are to backfi7led
and topsoil repiaced (1' to 1.5' thick) to a finished grade of approxi-
mately 3 ft. below the fill areas' finished grade. This is to provide
an alternative channel far all flood waters up to and including the
100 year design flood. The remaining 5.45 acres of Area I, and Area II
are to be reclaimed as lakes with side slopes a maximum of 3:1 to 10
feet below the water line and a maximum of 2:1 below that depth. There
will be a 6 foot safety shelf approximately 3 to 4 feet below the
expected water surface. It is intended that the two lakes will be
stocked with fish and made available to the dwellers in the proposed
housing areas as part of the recreational open space of the project.
As many as possible of the existing trees will be preserved, and the
area down to the water line will be reseeded with a pasture seed mix
of fairway, intermediate and crested wheat grasses. The entire disturbed
area will be reseeded in approximate 6 month intervals and the remaining
landscaping will be left to. the homeowners of the planned Rossum Heights
Subdivision. Sufficient water rights are held by the applicant to
more than offset evaporation losses due to the lake exposure.
Time Schedule
Approximately three and one half acres of area will be mined each year.
Total extraction, and reclamation of the extraction area is anticipated
to take a maximum of 3 years. However, implementation of the total
proposal including the housing portions of the site will, in all
probability, be completed over a 5 to 10 year period.
