(f) Dimensions of any significant disturbance to the land surface.
1. Mining will commence in the northeast comer of the affected area and will move west and south.
The unmined azea south of this cut will provide a visual bamer from some areas. After sufficient
area is opened up in the northeast comer, it is possible that a custom crusher might be engaged to
move into that area and crush some road base material. p (U
2. The north boundary will be finished at'1 1/2 to 1 or flatter. If necessary, a bench might be
constructed at an acceptable level. ~
3. Stockpiles will be limited, partially due to the limited product demand in this area. It is estimated
that a maximum of 10,000 T to 15,000 T will be in stockpile a[ any one time.
4. Any overburden will be stockpiled for site preparation in reclamation. Rock will be crushed.
(g) Dimensions of any existing or proposed roads that will be used for the mining operaton.
An existi~ranch toad along the east side of the permit area will be used for access to this project.
No new roads will be constructed, and this road will be left after the project is complete for the BLM
to have access to their land immediately on the north.
(h) Water to be used in conjunction with operations and source.
This will be strictly a dry pit operation with no water required.
(i) Groundwater to be encountered and/or surface water intercepted.
As stated above, this will be strictly a dry pit operation with no affect on water rights or hydrology
of the area. There will be no surface water intercepted and the historic drainage pattern will be
basically undisturbed. Depth to groundwater is unknown, but it is estimated it would be at a depth
of Smith Gulch, which is a minimum of 60" to 80" below the proposed pit floor.
Q) Compliance with applicable Colorado water laws and regulations governing injury to
existing water rights.
See h & i above. There will be no water rights -either surface or ground - to be affected by this
operation. However, a Stormwater Dischazge Permit will be acquired.
(k) Refuse and acid-forming or toxic materials exposed, handling and disposal.
No refuse or acid-forming or toxic material will be involved in this operation. As stated earlier, it
will be strictly a dry pit operation extracting sand and rock of a type that are basically chemically
inert. No chemicals of any type will be required for processing and no refuse will be generated.
