EXHIBIT "C"
MINING PLAN
(a) Mining Dates.
Mining is projected to start in the Spring of 1999, upon permit approval, and continue until at least
the Fall of 2020. This will be a compazatively low volume operation for the applicant with the
product material being used on his own development projects in the area, as well as to customers
needing road material for their own property.
Notice is hereby given that this pit may be operated less than 6 months per yeaz if business demand
or weather so dictate. The applicant requests that this not be considered as temporary cessation.
(b) Topsoil -soil suitable as a plant growth medium.
It appeazs that topsoil ranges from a minimum of 3" to 8", except for azeas of gneiss or granite rock
outcrops on hills and ridges. Topsoil will be segregated and stockpiled on the pit perimeters for use ~
in reclamation. If stockpiles remain in place for more than one growing season, they will be seeded ~'
with an SCS recommended seed mix for cover. Generally this is 7#/A pls of Western Wheatgrass.
(c) Thickness of overburden or quantity of waste rock.
It is anticipated that the overburden will be limited, if any. It will be stockpiled sepazately from
topsoil and will be used in reclamation or possibly sold as fill material.
(d) Thickness of deposit to be mined.
Present projections aze from 10' on the east perimeter, to 50' at the thickest point.
(e) Major components of the mining operation:
1. Access is directly north off of Tallahassee Road to the east side of the affected azea.
2. This pit will encompass a maximum of 9.90 acres. Z
3. No office, shop or maintenance buildings are present on site. ~`'~ ~~ -~
4. Since this will be an open-pit operation, there will be no underground openings such as adits or
ventilation facilities connected with the operation.
