Topsoil material shalt be spread to <br />provide a minimum depth of four inches. If, in the course of importing fill [o the site, better <br />quality plan growth medium soil is obtained, the imported soil should be used to replace the equal <br />amount of stockpiled topsoil, and the replaced soil should be used az backfill material. <br />Next. all topsoil area will be mulched with certified weed free mulch at a rate of I to I.5 tons per <br />acre. The topsoil and mulch will [hen be disked and prepared for seeding. <br />Seeding opetations should be scheduled to occur in early April or August. Seeding will be <br />completed by drilling or broadcast method. If broadcast method is selected ,the seeding rates <br />shall be doubled, and the seed shall be incorporated into the soil with a harrow or morman creaser. <br />Seed used for reclamation shall consist of the following: <br />SPECIES PLSR.4TE/ACIP£ °iiOF:N/.Y <br />Jose Tall Wheatgrass 25 70 <br />Alkali Sacaton I l0 <br />Western Wheatgrass 14 ]0 <br />Galleta 13 10 <br />Note: PLS rates listed shall be doubled if broadcast <br />After the area haz been planted, the area shall be fertilized at a rate of300 lbs. per acre, with 21-0- <br />0 R 0-45-0, or az otherwise recommended by a soil test performed by the Soil Conservation <br />Service. <br />The operator need to implement weed control practices, as required, to eliminate noxious weeds <br />from the permit area. <br />The site will not be 'trriga[ed, as suitable irrigation water sources are not available at the site <br />Part 2 b <br />As discussed above, reclamation proposed for this site, vacant industtiaUcommercial zoned land, <br />is appropriate for the site. The surrounding land uses are primarily industrial commercial uses. <br />The site has aUeady been subdivided into five lots. <br />Parr 2 c <br />3.1.1 Post-Mining Use <br />The post mining land use will be vacant industriaVcommercial zoned land. <br />3.1.2 Reclaiming Substituted Land <br />There are no substitute lands proposed with [his project. <br />3.1.3 Time Limit and Phased Reclamation <br />Mining at this site will be progressive. Backfill placement required for site <br />reclamation work will occur behind the sand and gravel highwall. Topsoil <br />placement, mulching, seeding, and fertilizing activities will be delayed until an <br />area of 10 acres or less in size is backfilled. Reclamation for the 10-acre area is <br />anticipated to require two months to complete. <br />
