All
available topsoil (or other appropriate awterlal) should be used In
reclamstion.
4. In general, 1 find the seed mix satisfactory. I assume that the seedtng
rates are broadcast rather than drilled. These rates seem very high for
drilling. You should clarify this. If these are broadcast rates, I
recommend cutting the seeding rate of Yellow swsetclover to 2 lbs./acre
and raising the Perennial ryegrass rate to 2 lbs./acre. if the seeds are
to be drtlled, all rates should be halved. Also the smaller seeds should
be placed in a separate seed box and agitator if they ere to be drtlled.
Please clarify this situation..
5. The grass stands should be evaluated carefully before grazing is allowed
on the site.
Exhibit L
I suggest that you calculate the reclamation costs for the remaining recla-
mation on the site. It might be wise to do a meJor, croderate and minor dis-
turbance classification for the whole site. since some erase have been largely
reclaimed. A bond reduction may be possible. In any case, I recommend that
Brannan replace the existing bond with our new bond form under the new Act.
Pit 29
Once again, I will need proof of publication and proof of notification of
adJacent landowners before the November 19-20, 1980 Hoard meeting.
Application form item 17
IThe creation of a lake with no use Is not to and of Itself a land use. How will various mine materials "seal" the northern perimeter of Parcel
VV B? If this sealing is necessary to n~etntain the ten-foot difference In
final water levels In the two pile or Is otherwise necessary to the
reclamation, more detail should be given as to how this will be accomplished.
Furthermore, why will this area of shoreline "seal" itself while others
will not?
V 2.
