1) Under this general permit, facilities engaged in the mining and
processing of sand and gravel (including rock or stone used as
aggregate) may be granted authorization to discharge treated process
generated waste waters into waters of the statz"of Colorado with tae
exception of facilities in the Cherry Creek Basin and those tributary
to Chatfield Reservoir downstream of the USCS gag=_ at `~aterton and on
Plus Creek. For purposes of this permit,.process generated waste
waters includes:
s
a) wash waters;
b) transport waters;
c) scru66er waters (crushers or classifier);
d) mine dewatering (groundwater aad/or runoff); aad

e) other process water as determined 6y the permit issuiag authority.

2. T:Zis permit does not constitute authorization under 33 U.S.C. 134i
(Section 404 of the Clean Water 3cc) of anv stream dr=_dgiag or fi1'ing
operations. /

3. In order to be considere3 eligible for authorization to discharge
under the terms and conditions of this permit, toe owaer, operator,
and/.or authorized agent of any facility desiring to discharge gust
submit, by certified letter, the discharge application form, available
from the Water Quality Control Division, which generally requires the
following information:
a) Name, address/and descriptive 1oc_tion of the facility;
b) Name of prinEipal in charge of operation of tae facility;
c) Name of wa ~r receiving the discharg=_;
d) Descripti n of the type of activity resulting in tae
discharg including the anticipated duration of activity
and/or [ e discharge, anticipated volume, and rate of
dischar e, and the source of water which is to be
discha ged;
e) DesJc,fipcion of any waste water treatxeat s;rscaa and
recycle/reuse utilized; and,
f) d map or scaematic diagr_^ s:.oviag the ge~er_L axe _.. _i or
routing of the activity.
