•
raga material (sandstone) to the m111 size ( - 8") and the conveyors will put
i. into stockpiles for trucking to operator's sand processing plant at
Laporte, Colorado. The primary crusher and conveyors are shown on Exhibit E
itt RED. No underground mining will be conducted on the site.
G. Ari open pit excavation with approximate dimensions of 200' x 2000' is shown
or: Exhibit E. The sandstone material will be drilled and blasted. Mining
will occur by use of vertical faces. The side walls will be benched or
sloped as needed or necessary for safety precautions and/or reclamation.
7. An existing ranch trail will be used to provide access to the site. The
ranch [rail is approximately 12' wide and 5,000' in length to the intersec-
tion of the Northern Colorado Rod and Cun Club access road. (Area equals
1.~+ acres.) No grade improvements will be made. Base course material will
he spread to provide an all weather surface.
8. Wager :s not available on the property- Water will not be necessary in the
conctucring of mining other than as may be required for dust suppression.
9. Operator does not anticipate or reasonably expect to intercept or disturb
any groundwater or surface water, The mine site itself is just below the
crest of a relatively steep hillside with no evidence of any water anywhere
in the general vicinity. It is not likely that a heavy rainfall will wash
sediment from the mine site. There will be no runoff.
10. It is not reasonably likely that under any circumstances, operator would in-
tec-r'er~• with groundwater or surface water or underground aquifers, The
deprlt uF the usable deposits of approximately 50' is well above any ground
water or aquifers. Operator did not come into contact with any ground wa-
ter or aquifers tahen conducting exploration on the property through core
drilling. This exploration was undec permit from the State of Colorado.
11. See Item No. 5 above. In addition, operator will not be using any chemicals
at ttie mining site. This mining operation will involve Che extraction of a
naturally occurring sandstone and limited crushing to ( - $") with extensive
off-:site processing at operator's Laporte sandplant, No tailing ponds,
heap:;, or vats are part of the mining plan.
12. Operator is required to obtain the following permits:
A. Limited Impact Mining Permit (110(2)).
B. Application fo r Zoning Action - Larimer County.
C. Air Pollution Emission Permit - Colorado Department of Health.
1. Jaw crusher
?. Fugitive dust
3-2
