! •
EXHIBIT D - RECLAMATION PLAN
1. As previously stated, the mineral deposit to be mined outcrops Che surface
over the entire proposed site. Therefore, little if any topsoil or
overburden is available or evident. Because no topsoil or overburden is
available in sufficient quantities, none is anticipated to be utilized in
reclamation. Any waste rock or fines that is generated and not shipped by
operator to operator's Laporte sandplant will be utilized as backfill mate-
rial to reduce the slopes and highwalls.
2. As previously stated, a vertical working Face will be established on a
noL•th-south axis. Vertical sides of the quarry pit will be reduced to a 3:1
slope by drilling and blasting and the use of heavy equipment. Final grad-
ing of a 3;1 slope is in accordance with the existing topography which can
be described as a steep hillside with a slope of approximately 3:1. It
is anticipated that the 3:1 slope is compatible with the configuration of
the surrounding topography and is compatible with its existing and an-
ticipated use as marginal rangeland.
3-7. Seeding of the reclaimed land will occur. Seeding will be broadcast by
hand. Operator will rely heavily upon the Soil Conservation Service for
recommended seed mixture, types, and quantities and revegetation. Hay
mulch at the rate of three tons per acre will be applied. Fertilization
will not be applied due to the lack of topsoil. Seeding will occur pri-
marily in the early spring. The kind of mulch and quantity of mulch co be
applied is as recommended by Soil Conservation Service, Operator believes
the mining site is not visible to vehicular traffic on any existing road.
The site is very isolated and inaccessible.
8. No ponds, streams, or buildings will remain after reclamation. The road to
be surveyed as an easement on Weaver Ranch, Inc., and the road on operator's
property as shoran on Exhibit E will remain for access by the operator. 7
9. Waste material will not be generated and thus there will be no waste rock
dumps, tailing impoundments, underground mine openings, buildings or ocher
features remaining after reclamation.
4-1
~~
