Within 30 days of <br />submission (date of receipt) of the Phase I ZiiE, the permittee shall <br />submit (date of receipt) for the Division's appro~rdl a control prcxgam to <br />oorrtrol WET, and shall proceed to implement such plan within 7 days <br />following receipt of written approval from the Division. <br />If the Phase I Tfd: fails to identify a probable teodcant arr]/or a probable <br />source of toodcity, the permittee shall ratify the Division of its <br />findings and proceed with the Phase II ~2E. <br />If toxicity disappears durtirg the Phase I TRE, the permittee shall sukmut <br />written notification to that effect to the Division. Phase II 'IItE <br />A plan for a Pha_~e ]Z ~ shall be sulmiitte3 (date of receipt) to the <br />Division by the permittee within 60 days of the submission (date of <br />receipt) of the Phase I THE Repast. A Phase II THE m4Y follow either <br />of two directions, as appropriate: toxicant treatability studies, or <br />teodcarrt/source identification and control studies. 2tactcant treatability <br />studies are designed to a~~ the feasibility of eliminating WET via <br />addition ar modification of treatment processes at the wastewater <br />tzeabaent Facility. <br />T~cicxnt/san~oe iclentificaticat arri control efforts are desic~ed to <br />identify toxicants, identify the sources of toxicants, an3 control whole <br />effluent toxicity by eliminating the introd~u-tion of toxicants into the <br />wastewater treatment facility. Toxicity identification studies performed <br />by the permittee shall be in genezal aocorrlance with accepted methods for <br />Toxicity Identification Prooerha~es and Toxicity Confirmation Procedures. <br />The Phase II THE permit conditions may be amended, if so requested aryl <br />justified by the permittee. <br />The Phase II THE report shall indicate the results of the Phase II THE <br />study. If the Phase II THE results in the identification of the <br />tcxicants, the sources of toxicants ar treatment for elimination of the <br />toxicant, the permittee shall submit for Division approval a control <br />program to control WET within 60 days of submission (date of receipt) oP <br />the Fhase II THE Report, and shall proceed to implement such plan within <br />days following receipt of written approval fran the Division. <br />
