the proposed mining operation. No drill or auger
holes, or shafts result from the mining
operation. Again, all finished slopes from five
feet above to ten feet below the expected water
line will have a slope no steeper than 3
horizontal to 1 vertical.
c-2. Water - The operator intends to compl' with
applicable Colorado water laws and regulations
governing water rights and with applica le
Federal and Colorado laws and regulations
governing water quality and dredge and dill
requirements where applicable. Although the
excavated area will remain inundated, n~ water is
generated nor consumed as a result of t e mining
operation. The water impounded is that~occuring
from natural ground water seepage in th~ area or
runoff entering the area from adjacent ~latural
drainage ways. Since no water is cons ed, the
amount of water released is equivalent o the
amount entering the area. See also the USDA Soil
Conservation Service information noted ~s Exhibit
AA regarding ground water, soils, and g asses in
the area.
c-3. Wildlife - The Colorado Division of Wildlife is
currently reviewing the Pre-Mining Plana A copy
of their review will be sent to you forjcomment
as soon as it is available. No conflictls with
wildlife is anticipated regarding recla~ation.
c-4. Topsoiling - Topsoil is quite limited ;in the
native area and it is mostly of poor qu lity as
shown on Exhibit AA. However, the limi ed
topsoil will be stockpiled above the 10 year
floodprone district and will be spread niformly
in depths of approximately 6"-12" on the dike
areas above the water line of the water
impoundment and in other locations that 'might
have been disturbed during the mining operations
to provide a support for vegetation. To~soil
will be maintained in a useable condition by
creating vegetative cover if prolonged storage is
required.
c-5. Revegetation - Revegetation will occurionly on
the dikes above the water line of the impoundment
and on the locations disturbed by the mi ing
operation. It will consist of seeding o grasses
compatible to the area as described by t~e SCS in
