•
2.05.3(1)
mine site. Paining will be carried on according to t!:e rules
and regulations enforced by PiSt!A and the Colorado Division of
P;fines.
A five entry system, the #1 North :fains, was originally designed
for the Red Canyon #1 trine with a heading on an azimuth of
- approximately 330 degrees. T.ahen Grand t•;esa Coal acquired the mine
in 1978, the location of the #1 Mains was dictated by the old mine
_ and the property boundary. Refer to the PSine Plan ltap, 2.05.3(1)-1,
the existing workings with the original Mains are shown cross-
hatched. these entries were continued on this azimuth until they
lined up with projections north between the old wor'.~ings and the
property boundary. The entry and crosscut centers are EO feet by
80 feet for the first 800 feet nor t:: in the #'_ tlains. The planned
• entry and crosscut widths will average 19 feet throuyhoLt th.e mine.'
--~ Once past the old workings, the Plains turn north and mining continues
on 60 foot entry and 80 foot crosscut centers. At this point, past
the old workings, another intake and another return was added on
the right side. The entries are numbered from left to right. In
the #1 north Plains the entries are #1 and #2 - return, =3 - belt,
#4 and #5 - intake, #6 - intake and #7 - return, The #1 north :aains
will be extended as far north as rederal leases are available.
Just below the north side of the SS 1!; NE; Section 12, a set of six
_ entries has been driven to the west, the #1 fNest Submains. The
location of the #1 [lest Submains is dictated by ownershia and t:ie
subcrop. The #1 [9est Submains were positioned as far no~th as
possible to reduce the hydrologic effect near the subcrop. In
Piarch 1981 while mining near crosscut 14+00 roof conditions
- started deteriorating in the #1 47est Submains. Permission was
granted by the Division to drill Ce-81-1 and Ce-B1-2 near [•:a rd
- Creek to identify any potential affect of the creel: on the ~~ining
• _.
REVISED 2-12-82 p~
