• ~.
• 2.05.3(1)
projections west. See 1•'.ap 2.05.3(1)-1 for location o` the holes,
and Figures 2.04.5-24 and 25 for driller's log of the holes. To
- mine through the poor conditions as fast as possible the #1 entry
was dropped from crosscut 15+60 to 23+20 and the crosscut centers
_ were extended to 120 feet. The roof was saturated with water
and conditions were such that in addition to the coal, up to 4 feet
of rock was mined in this area. 47est of Ward Creek., good roof
conditions were encountered. ;9ining under 47illiams Creek showed
no poor conditions that could be attributed to the Creek. As with
the #1 forth Mains, the #1 West Submains will allow for further
extension upon acquisition of additional coal.
A proposal for the Williams Creek air course was to drive south
to the outcrop with three entries reaching the surface. Poor coal
quality south of the #1 West Submain has resulted in cessation of
•- mining south at this time. Projections and proposed surface
- ~ disturbance for portals will be submitted to the Division if r.ew
plans are made to mine south.
Panels will be driven north of the #1 [4est Submains. T^e panels
will be approximately 480 feet wide and will be mined either the
^ full width in advance or with as few entries as possible in
advance and rooms to full width on retreat. In either case, a 50 to
55B extraction is planned. See Map 2.5.3(1)-1 for details of
panel lay out, and Drawing 2.05.3(1) for typical e:;tractica :~etl-.ods
The Mains and Submains will be protected by a 100 to 200 foot trick
barrier pillar. A 40 foot barrier will be left bet~.~een panels and
will be incorporated into the extraction ratio calculation. Entry
and crosscut widths will be 1G - 20 feet witki 19 feet as an average.
Another set of entries, Al East Submains, has been started
opposite the #1 [•7est Submains in the SD/9 ,7?7/4 of Section 12.
• .
REVISED 2-12-82 81
