• 2.05.3(3)(b)(vi)(C)
The Delta-Montrose Electric Association (DMEA) constructed a new
line along the above referenced easement. The easement will be in
effect longer than the mine facilities; therefore, reclamation is
not considered the operator's responsibility. A letter from DMEA
follows as page 92b. This letter dated July 8, 1993 confirms that
DMEA owns the 46KV line and easement and they have no plans to
remove the line. Access must be maintained to the mine site to
provide DMEA access to its line and easement.
A new substation was constructed by the operator at the west end of
the bathhouse parking lot. New power distribution lines were
constructed by the operator to tie the new substation into the
existing electrical system. These lines and substation were
removed by 1988.
(vii) Parts Storage Yard
The parts storage yard had been used for many years as a junk yard
before the prior operator acquired the property. The junk pile had
been reduced to usable material. Little actual disturbance had
taken place there. Refer to the Reclamation Plan, Section 2.05.4,
for details on the removal of this surface facility. Refer to the
. Affected Land Map, 2.04.3(2)(a)-2, for location of parts storage
yard.
(viii) Powder Magazine
The powder magazine was built in the fall of 1978 when the operator
planned to use conventional mining. The building was a cinderbrick
structure dug into the hill. The cap magazine consisted of a
ventilated old safe closed with two padlocks. The operator
inspected the powder magazine quarterly. The powder magazine and
cap magazine were removed from the property during the 1988
reclamation project.
92a (Rev. 3-29-96)
