2.05.3(3) (b) (vi) (C)
Other surface electrical installations are a transformer near the
bathhouse and office, and a transformer above the belt portal
which supplies power to the belt drive and loader garage, and a
transformer near the shop which supplies power to the shop and
yard area. These three transformers are mounted on poles and
have been in place for some time.
The power system taken into the mine is 7200 volts. Two 4-5/8
inch holes were drilled near the shaft in the spring of 1979
to allow for power and sump return. The power hole was cased
with 3~ inch aluminum conduit and grouted in place. The cable
used from the sub-station, down the borehole and throughout the
main is MSHA approved high voltage cable. The sub-station and the
borehole are enclosed in seven foot chain linl; fence.
Grand Mesa Coal Company inspects the sub-station and transformers
weekly. Maintenance is performed when necessary. Plans for
removal include taking down the power sub-station and removing the
lines. Refer to the Reclamation Plan Section 2.05.4, for specific
details.
Grand Mesa Coal Company Has contracted with the Delta-,tntrose
Electric Association to install and maintain a new 46 KV po;aer line
onto the property. Attached, Drawing 2.05.3(3)(b3(vi}(C)-1, is a
copy of an easement granted to Delta-D:ontrose Electric Association
for the location of the line. This new supply line is necessary
because the Delta-Montrose Electric Association would not allow
Grand Mesa Coal Company to draw down any additional poorer from
the present 12,460 Volt residential line now supplying the Red
Canyon Mine.
•
REVISED 2-12-92 92
