Mineral mining and processing point source category - 40 CFR 436 - subpaRS E (gypsum), F (asphaltic <br />mineral), G (asbestos and wollasfonite), J (barite), K (fluorspar), L (saEnes from brine lakes), M (borax), N <br />(potash). O (sodium sulfate). V (bentoaite), W (megnesite), X (diatomite), Y (jade), Z (noveculite), AF <br />(tripoli), and asphalt batch plants located at any facility otherwise covered by this general permit: <br />No monitoring ie required (unless specified by the Division). An annual repoR to the Division on whether or <br />not a discharge of pracesc water has taken place at the facility is required (see Pert I.D.3.b of the permit). <br />4. flow Measurin¢ Device <br />If not already a paR of the permitted facility, within ninety (90) days after the effxtive date of the certification, a <br />Flow measuring device shall be installed to give representative values of effluent quantities at the respective discharge <br />points. A flow measuring device will be applicable at all designated discharge points of process water. The flow <br />may also be determined by using the pump capacity multiplied by the length of time the pump is operated, provided <br />that the aeenraey requirement (nee below) is met. <br />When the facility ie not operating, and no discharge is occurring (e.g., if it is shut down for the winter), a flow <br />mracLring device is not required W be on site. <br />At We request of the Water Qtrality Control Division, or the Environmental Protxtion Agency, the pennittee shall <br />show proof of the accuracy of any Flow-measuring device used in obtaining data submitted in the monitoring repoR. <br />The flow-measuring device moat indicate values within tan (10) petceat of the actual flow being discharged. <br />C. EFFLUENT LIMITATIONS AND CONDITIONS - STORMWATER DISCHARGE <br />(This section (I.C) applies to all facilities with a discharge of stormwater.) <br />1. General Limitations <br />a. Stormwater discharges from the industrial activity shall not cause or threaten to cause pollution, contamination <br />or degradation of any State waters. <br />b. There shall be no discharge of sanitary waste waters from toilets or related facilities. <br />c. No chemicals are to be added to the discharge unless permission for the use of a specific chemical is greeted <br />by the permit issuing authority. In granting the use of such chemicals, additional limitations and monitoring <br />requirements may be imposed. <br />d. Bulk storage structures for petroleum products end other chemicals shall have adequate protection so as to <br />prevent any reasonable loss of the material from entering discharged waters or waters of the State. <br />
