• 4. The minimum quantity of air reaching the last open crosscut in <br />any pair or set of developing entries or rooms shall be 12,000 <br />cubic feet per minute and the minimum quantity of air reaching <br />the intake end of a pillar line shall be 12,000 cubic feet per <br />minute. When diesel equipment is being used on a working <br />section, there shall be 15,000 cfm in the last open crosscut. <br />5. Intake air which passes by seals and is used to ventilate active <br />areas shall be examined in accordance with Section 75.303, 30 <br />CFR. <br />6. At least 90 percent of the sprays indicated for dust suppression <br />on each piece of equipment shall be maintained and operated at <br />the indicated water pressure and flow rate. <br />7. Dead ended entries and idle working faces shall be ventilated by <br />line brattice or tubing to within ten (10) feet of the deepest <br />penetration of the face. If water is present in the working <br />place, it shall be ventilated to within ten (10) feet o-f the <br />high water line. <br />8. When taking methane gas checks, the examination will be made <br />based on the roof control plan at the following points: <br />a. Conventional support - at the last temporary or <br />. permanent support. <br />b. Roof bolt support - at the last row of permanent <br />support. <br />9. Any corrective actions taken that result in the abatement of a <br />citation or order for high respirable dust concentrations shall <br />be incorporated into the ventilation system and methane and dust <br />control plan. A record shall be kept of all corrective actions <br />taken to obtain compliance and this record shall be made <br />available to MSHA. <br />Lonowall Sections: <br />1. The minimum mean air velocity measured within the first 10 <br />shields of the headgate shall be 200 feet per minute, and within <br />the last 10 shields of the tailgate the velocity shall be 100 <br />feet per minute. <br />2. The minimum quantity of air reaching the intake end of the <br />longwall shall be 30,000 cubic feet per minute. <br />3. At least SO percent of the sprays indicated for dust suppression <br />on each piece of equipment shall be maintained and operated at <br />the indicated water pressure and flow rate. <br />• 4. When taking methane gas checks, the examination will be made <br />at the tailgate as close to the roof as possible. <br />-4- <br />
