skunk cabbage (Lysichiton americanum) are the predominant understory <br />vegetation. There are slight depressions on both sides of the location, which are <br />wet in early spring, but probably dry up during the summer. <br /> <br />Site FFF. <br />Threatened, Endangered, Sensitive and Management Indicator Species <br />During habitat and wildlife surveys no Threatened or Endangered species <br />were observed. Both the northern goshawk and olive-sided flycatcher, <br />which are listed as Sensitive by the USFS, were observed at this location. <br />The northern goshawk is also listed as a Management Indicator Species. No <br />other Sensitive or Management Indicator Species were observed in the <br />general vicinity of the drill site or along the road corridor. <br />Raptors <br />There is suitable raptor nesting habitat (especially for accipiters) within a 1/4 <br />mile radius of the site. No raptor nests were located during the surveys. As <br />previously noted, this was the location where a goshawk was observed <br />flying through the area. <br /> <br />
