Except during instruc uon by a qualified person, <br />mo[Orgrader5 shall be operated by trained personnel <br />only, <br />2. Moto rg raders shall be ~nspec fed by a cpmpetenl <br />persgn before operation and any defects affecting <br />sa lety shall be reported and corrected promptly. <br />J, A rotating /lather light shall be in operation on <br />top of the motorgrader in operation. <br />4. Make sure all persons and oblec[s are clear <br />before moving the machine. <br />5. Sound horn twice before any movement. <br />6. Do not attempt to opera le the controls until <br />you are properly positioned in the cab w~Ih seat belts <br />/astened. <br />7. All graders Shall he prov~tled with a rearview <br />mnror properly adjusted. <br />8. Windows, w~ndshie ids, and rearview motors <br />shall tae kept reasonably Clean at all times. <br />9. Never operate a grader on a steep grade unless <br />it is going st ra~ght up or straight down. <br />10. When parking, the blade and scarifyer shall be <br />placed firmly on the ground and the brakes set. <br />11. Getting on or p(( moving equipment is pro- <br />hibited. <br />12. Eau ng lunch or resting under, rn front o!, or <br />behind parketl mobile equipment is prohibted. <br />Page 24 <br />SCRAPERS <br />1. Except tluring instruction by a qualified person, <br />scrapers shall be operated by trained personnel only, <br />2. Scrapers shall be inspectetl by a competent <br />F person before oPer anon and any defects affecting <br />safety shall 6e reportetl antl cortec tetl Promptly. <br />3. The standard checklist shall be used in inspecting <br />the equipment before it is placed in operation. <br />4. Make sure all persons and gbjects are clear <br />before moving the machine. <br />5. Sound horn twice before any movement. <br />6. Operate the machine only when properly pqs- <br />itioned in the seat with seat belts fattened, <br />7. A safe speed shall be maintained at all times <br />consistent with conditions. <br />8. Getting on or off moving equipment is prohibited. <br />9. Eating lunch or resting untler, in front of, or be- <br />hintl parked mobile equipment is prohibited. <br />10. When changing the blade on a scraper, make <br />sure the can is blocked securely. <br />11. When the pan of a Scraper goes into a latk~ <br />knife, lower the pan or blade to slow down and <br />control the machine. <br />12. When left unattentled, lower the scraper's can <br />to the ground and sei the brakes. <br />SHOPS AND YARDS <br />• 1. All grease or oil spots shall be cleaned up as <br />soon as possible. <br />2. Greasy rags and flammable ligmds or waste shall <br />be kept m fire resistant, closed containers. <br />3. When moving materials that have been Stored, <br />watch for snakes and insects. <br />4. Grease or mainle nonce pits shall be covered or <br />guarded and kept reasonably tree of grease, oil, and <br />flammable substances. <br />Page 25 <br />• • <br />
