9. The haul road between the east pit areas (Cells C-D) and west pit areas (Cells A-
B)will occur at the same, location as an existing unimproved road. The haul road
will be approximately 15 ft wide and will be graveled with approximately 6" of
gravel. The runoff coefficient for a gravel road is not expected to significantly
increase local runoff to the point of needing additional drainage structures.. The
haul road will cross an existing 12" CMP on the west side near the east corner of
Cell A which will„remain. At the request of the landowner, the haul road will
remain following mining and will not undergo reclamation as it is considered an
improvement to the property., Exhibit D.has been edited to include this
information,
10. The depth. of cells will be approximately 20 ft. The mining highwall slopes will be
approximately 0.5H:1V. Exhibit D has been edited to include this information
under Earthwork.
' 11. No structures will be constructed onsite
12. The overburden'stockpiles will occur in Cell B and Cell C as adjacent cells are
stripped for mining. No overburden stockpile will occur in Cells A and D due to
` concurrent reclamation of those cells. In other words, overburden will be stripped
from Cells B and D and backfilled_directly into Cells A and C respectively. Exhibit
C-2 has been edited to show the location of overburden and topsoil stockpiles.
. 13. Erosion control for topsoil and overburden stockpiles will be as follows:
' ,Experience with other focal mining operations shows that vegetation will
naturally; establish on topsoil stockpiles and as such, topsoil stockpiles will
be allowed.to naturally re-vegetate. ,
• The APE,N permit specifies watering of stockpiles to prevent wind erosion,
` the stormwater NPDES specifies silt fence at the toe of all stockpile
slopes. ,
Furthermore, overburden stockpiles are expected to be backfilled into
adjacent cells in a matter of.months.
14. Topsoil and Overburden stockpiles have been re-configured and,Exhibit C-2 has
been edited to shoWlocations
• -The topsoil stockpile has been moved to provide a 10 ft setback from the
pit bqundary in Cells A and B r
'• The south boundary of the topsoil stockpile is above the elevations of 100
year floodplain and will not be subject to high water from the Big
- . ~ 'Thompson River. Silt fence wilt be placed at the toe of this topsoil
stockpile as specified in.the NPDES stormwater management plan.
Topsoil stockpiles will, :only occur in pits adjacent to active mining area.
Exhibit C-2' has been edited to include when the stockpiles will occur for
clarity '. , ,' .
~• The location of.the stockpile in Cell Chas been relocated away from the
haul road. Exhibit C-2 has been edited to include this information.
