<br />EXHIBIT D <br />FIPE SPRINGS RLLCH PIT # 18 <br />A. No new sloped left steeper than 3:1 <br />B. No adverse effect On drainage. <br />C. Land used for grazing. <br />D. No effect On wildlife. <br />E. Land put back as close as possible to its natural vegetation. <br />Erosin control during and after mining. Depending On the specific <br />site of the pit. A diversion dike may be needed On the upper <br />side to convey any surface storm runoff. <br />Wt:ere it is possible the 1st and 2nd horizons of the soil pro- <br />file shall be removed and stockpiled separately for replacement <br />in the borrowed area. <br />Top Soiling: As mining is completed the side slopes should be <br />sloped 4:1 or flatter. A slop Of 3:1 or flatter grealty facilitates <br />equipment operation and the safety Of the equipment operator. <br />The stockpiled topsoil and supporting horizon would be enough <br />to cover.. the shapped borrow area walls 6" to 12" Or more <br />is needed to provided a suitable growth media for the reyegetation <br />planned. <br />FERTILIZATION: <br />Fertilization Of not less than 40 pounds nitrogen and <br />40 pounds phosphours should be applied unless a soil analysis <br />indicates sufficient amounts Of these elements. <br />Application Of fertilizers should be immediately prior to <br />Or at the time of seeding. <br />MULCHING <br />Mulching material should be applied immediately before <br />or after seeding <br />Either of the two mulching methods listed below would be <br />acceptable. <br />1. Grass hay Or cereal grain straw should be used at application <br />rate of 4,000 pounds per acre Of air dry material. At least <br />50% Of the mulch by weight shall be 10" or more by length. <br />anchor mulch immediately after distributing with a mulch <br />crimper or disc plow. <br />2. Application Of feedlot Or barnyard manure must be of <br />a type that has 60% Or more by weight, heavy chunks 5 inches <br />or more in diameter. The minium rate Of application before <br />or after seeding. <br />Drill grasses in with a grasslaND drill. <br />The following species are suggested: <br />9®~ side Dates 3.6 pounds per acre Pure liee, seed will used. <br />30% Blue Grama .9 pounds per acre No 'trees Or shrubs will <br />be planted at this site. <br />
