<br />EXHIBIT D CONT. <br />S. Defer seeded area from all use for at least a two year <br />period or until grass is established. This may require fencing, <br />6. METHODS OF SEEDING <br />Seed should be planted with a drill on all slopes of 33°a <br />or flatter. The drill must have the capability of handling <br />the kind and rate of the seed being planted. <br />The seed may be broadcast by hand, mechanical spreader or <br />by hydraulic equipment on the areas that are small, too steep, <br />oor not accessibile for a seed drill operation. <br />Seed depth: <br />Seed planted with a drill shall be covered with soil to a <br />depth of a" to 3/4". <br />seed planted by the broadcast method shall be incorporated <br />into the surface soil not to exceed a depth of 3/4" by raking, <br />harrowing, or other proven methods. <br />WEED CONTROL" <br />Annual and perennial weeds will compete with the grass <br />seedlings and may cause poor strands or failure in the grass <br />seed to start.. <br />Mowing is effective if done in a timely manner. During the <br />first 2 or 3 growing seasons after the grass is in the third <br />or the fourth leaf stage. There are several commercially <br />chemicals that are availabe and may be applied at Table rates. <br />OTHER CONSIDERATIONS: <br />Wildlife nesting, food or cover can be developed in the <br />borrow area. Taal grass, shrubs, and trees may be planted <br />either in clumps or rows to provide the habitat desired. <br />Wildlife that is common to this area is antelope, cottontail <br />rabbit, rattlesnake, and other wildlife species associated <br />with short grass habitat. <br />
