The sur'v~,y of the area <br />adjacent to the permit area carried out by CDf.i was conduc:te~c1 Truro <br />Ck:tober 1(i through October 2G, 197II. <br />DE:iCkIPI'IUN OF VI:GEl'A'PIUN TYPES <br />The vegetation of the blue Flame Coal Mine penait area is <br />comprised of four types listed in order of extent: P.9owttain Shrub, <br />Juniper-Pinyon, Ponderosa Pine and Ibuglas Fir, and Introduced Pasture. <br />These vegcastion types occur within the mine area at elevations ranging <br />ftvru 73GU feet to 774(1 feet. The average annual pr~ipitation is <br />apptroxirnately 19 inches for the permit area. The major topographic <br />feature of the penuit area is a broad drainage. <br />h10UNTAIN SHkl1B <br />The 6founuxin Shrub carmwxity within the permit area is <br />danineted by Gambel Oak (Cauercus gambeiii).
