Miniry; activities over the years Dave replaced the <br />vegetation with coal, shale, and sandstone surfaces in which the surface <br />has been denuded of plants. Only a few trees remain. Three vegetation <br />cumnw~ity types which have been inundated by disturbance are the <br />Sbuntain Shrub, Pinyou~Juniper, and Introduced Pasture typos. A fourth <br />curnnwrity type present, but not to be disturbed, within the permit <br />boundaries is the Ponderosa Pine and tbuglas-fir cormrunity type. <br />The vegetation of the upslope areas consists predominantly of <br />the Mountain shrub type, dominated by Garri~el Oat; and scattered Juuiper- <br />Pinyon. The nest most extensive community is the Juniper-Pinyon type. <br />The third Trost extensive carrnunity is the Ponderosa Pine and Douglas-fir <br />type. The fourth rmst extensive community is the Introduced Pasture. <br />It is this community which has been gust aff~,ted by prior mining <br />operations. L'ssentially all of the vegetation comprising the Introduced <br />Pasture have been disturbed on the none bench. <br />L <br />
