2. Screen Requirements. <br />a. Materials. In constriction of a screen, no material maybe visible from <br />the property line that is not intended for normal stmctural use. <br />b. Unobtrusive. Screens shall be as unobtrusive as possible and blend <br />with the surroundings. If of wood, stone, metal or painted masonry, the <br />finish color shall be either natural or neutral in the green-grey-brown <br />ranges. <br />c. Minimum ScreeninE Reouirements. Refer to chart Barrier <br />Specifications for screen requirements, and to chart Barriers Between <br />Adjacent Uses for the minimum screening requirements; the cell <br />specifications in chart Barriers between Adjacent Uses refer to the <br />specifications in chart Bawer Specifications. Both charts refer to <br />peripheral Barriers pazallel to the property line aid not to Local Buffers or <br />Screening of an azea or item as required below. <br />d. Multinlv Barriers. In certain Commercial applications, screens in <br />addition to buffers maybe required to meet compatibility standazds for <br />emissions, as well as trash and storage screening requiredbelow. <br />e. Activity Screened. No Commercial activity shall take place outside a <br />required perimeter screen. <br />3. Placement of Screens. Screens aze required in cases in which the max;?num <br />visual barrier is necessary to protect the existing use from the impact of a greatly <br />dis-similar new adj scent use, and to allow the new use maximum flexibility to use <br />the property it occupies. To accomplish this, to the extent possible, the following <br />regulations shall apply. <br />a. Location. The location of a screen with respect to the properly line to <br />be shielded shall be such that maximum effectiveness is achieved, and will <br />be dependent on the relative topography on each side of the property line <br />sepazating adjacent uses. There may be cases such that, because of <br />differences in relative elevations of the adjacent uses, as a practical matter, <br />adequate shielding is strueturaIly unfeasible, in which <br />case the application for rezoning or the use must be denied. <br />E. Exemption. Since Gilpin County is historically a mining azea and due to headframe <br />engineering requirement, mining head frames are exempt from Barrier requirements. <br />9.3 TIa;ASH. 5T®YtAGE, ARiIID ACCLT10gYJLATE®NS <br />A. Screen or Remove. Except as provided in SECTION 9.3E Quantity and placement, <br />accumulations of trash and materials, other than firewood, unused for a period exceeding <br />6 months shall be deemed trash and must be screened or removed from the premises. <br />Gilpin County Zoning Regulations 63 <br />
