B. Inoperable Vehicles. <br />1. Screen or Remove. All inoperable vehicles must be stored in a screened area <br />or be removed from the premises. Screened inoperable vehicles may not <br />exceed 4 in number unless allowed by special use permit. <br />2. Definitions. A vehicle, not defined as a "temporary building", motorized or <br />not, that can function as if for the use for which the velicle was designed, is <br />defined as an operable velicle; for example, a velricle is "operable" if, without <br />adding essential components, a trailer can be latched to and pulled away or a <br />caz or truck can be started by its own power source and driven away. Thus, a <br />vehicle that does not meet the definition of an "operable vehicle" is an <br />inoperable vehicle. <br />C. Natural Screen. In certain locations, where the topography or distance from the <br />property line provides effective screening tested at the groperty line, no screen is <br />required. The minnnum distance to make screening unnecessary is one quarter mile . <br />(1320 feet). <br />D. Local Screens. Regulations requiring local screening cited elsewhere in SECTION <br />9.2 Barriers will he met by opaque screens of a type specified for peripheral screens as to <br />construction. <br />l?. Screening for Residential and Forestry. On all premises used for Residential and <br />Forestry the following regulations shall apply relative to visibility from the properly line: <br />1. Quantity and Placement. Items and materials to be stored outside a roofed <br />structure shall be organized and neatly stacked in piles covering an area of no <br />more than 200 square feet and no more than 8 feet in height. Font such piles are <br />peritted per lot, except in Forestry Districts in which 8 piles are permitted. <br />2. Height Limit. Items exceeding 8 feet in height must be stored inside a <br />structure. <br />3. Screening. If more outside storage is required than in item 1 immediately <br />above, additional storage piles must be screened with a 100°l0 opaque Bairier, not <br />to exceed 8 feet in height. <br />F. Screening for Commercial C-3. On all premises in C-3, if a perimeter screen is used <br />instead of a buffer, outside storage of materials is peritted. <br />G. Screening for Commercial C-4 and C-5. On premises designated C-4 or C-5, outside <br />storage of unscreened materials is permitted. <br />H. Trash and Trash Containers. <br />1. Containment. In all Districts, trash, stored outside in dumpsters, vehicles or <br />other containers, must be 100% held within the covered containers. <br />Gilpin Courrty Zoning Regulations 64 <br />
