C. Construction Sims. A freestanding non-illuminated sign, limited to two (2) <br />sides ofno more than six (6) square feet per side, may be erected on a <br />project site for purposes of identifying all contractors and/or describing a <br />project and is not intended to be used by <br />the owner, architect or contractor for conspicuous advertising purposes. <br />Only one (1) construction sign may be permitted per parcel. The sign may <br />not be erected prior to the issuance of the building permit and shall be <br />removed prior to final building inspection approval or within one (1) year of <br />its installation, whichever occurs fast An extension of time may be <br />granted with prior written approval of the County Plasmer. Construction <br />Signs which aze not properly maintained, become illegible or deteriorated <br />shall be repaired or removed. <br />D. Personal Pmverty. One (1) freestanding non-illuminated sign limited to <br />two (2) sides ofno more than four (4) squaze feet per side, maybe erected <br />for the sale of personal property by the owner or resident of the property up <br />to four times pet year for a maximum period of four (4) consecutive days <br />for each occuaence and provided that the cumulative total does not exceed <br />sixteen (1~ days per calendar year. <br />B. Special Pennants and Bazmers. The display of pennants and banners (signs <br />made of fabric, plastic, or similaz material) shall. be pzohrbited except for <br />advertising a special event (such as the County Fair, or a grand opening o£ a <br />new business). A special eves is limited to once per yeaz. Such pennants <br />and banners must be located on the premises, maybe erected two (2) weeks <br />prior to the opening of the event advertised and shall be removed promptly <br />upon its conclusion. The total azea of such signage shall not exceed one <br />hundred (100) squaze feet. <br />~- Other Temvorarv Commercial Siffis. In Commercially Zoned Districts C- <br />3, C-4, and C-5, a temporary freestanding non-illuminated sign maybe <br />displayed no more than two (2) times per year for a maximum of four (4) <br />consecutive days per occurrence or cumulatively for no more than eight (8) <br />days per calendaz yeaz. One (1) sigq not exceeding a total size of sixteen <br />(16) squaze feet, and not exceeding a maximum height of more thaw ten (10) <br />feet above the earth, shall be permitted per lot. <br />GilQin County Zoning Regulations 52 <br />
