7. State Reeulations. Signs having the capacity of being visible from the travel <br />way of any state highway may also be subject to the provisions of the <br />Colorado Outdoor Advertising Act (C.RS. 43-1-401 through 421, as <br />amended), which regulates the content, size, lighting and spacing of signs <br />along highways in Colorado. <br />8.5 TEMP®&iA12Y SIG1V REGYJIsATyOP15 <br />The temporary signs listed below may be placed in all zoning districts, shall be located on <br />private property, relate to activities or uses being conducted on-site, be located a distance <br />at least ten (10) feet from the edge of the traveled portion of any adjacent roadway and be <br />subject to the following restrictions and limitations: <br />A. For Sa1e/For Rent Siffis. One (1) freestanding non-illuminated "for sale" or <br />"for rent" sign, shall be permitted per pazcel. The sign shall be limited to <br />iwo (2) sides of no more than six (~ square feet per side with the exception <br />that said sign may be increased in size up to twelve (12) square feet per side <br />if located a distance greater than fifty (50) feet from the edge of the traveled <br />portion of any adjacent roadway. For sale signs shall be removed within 15 <br />days following closing of the sale and for rent signs shall be removed <br />immediately upon lease, or within one (1) yeaz of its installation, whichever <br />occurs first. An extension of time maybe granted with prior written <br />approval of the County Planner. <br />B. Oxen House Signs. The reasonable use of signs, to include off-premise <br />directional signs, "A" Frame signs, banners, balloons and free-standing <br />signs as would be customarily utilized in connection with the marketing of <br />real estate during the period in which an "Open House" was being <br />conducted, maybe allowed provided: <br />a) The signs are only authorized for placement or use on the day of and in <br />conjunction with a scheduled open house; <br />b) All signs shall be located a distance greater than ten (10) feet from the <br />edge of the traveled portion of any adjacent roadway; <br />c) No off-premise, "A" frame or free standing sign may exceed six (t7 <br />square feet in size; Only directional signs are permitted off-site and <br />must be at road intersections only; and, <br />d) All signs, banners and other marketing pazaphemalia shall be removed <br />at the end of the day in which the open house occuaed. <br />Gilpin County Zoning Regelations 57 <br />
