8.4 GENEItAi~ 1ftE®>(1)()[8E1~IENTS AND Pit®ffiBlCd'I®NS <br />The following general requirements and prohibitions shall apply to the design, usage, <br />installation and mai~enance of all exterior signs within Gilpin County, including signs <br />for which a sign permit is not required. <br />A. Sien Permit Required. It shall be unlawful to erect, place, construct, <br />reconstruct, modify or relocate a sign without fast obtaining a sign permit <br />from the Building and Zoning Department. Pemnits aze not required for <br />"For Sale", "For Rent", "Open House", "Personal Properly", "Residential <br />Identification" and non-illuwinated "Internal Directional" signs as defined <br />within Sections 8.5 and 8.6 of this code. <br />B. Annlication. An application for a sign permit shall include the following <br />information: <br />The application farm shall be completed and the appropriate fee paid, <br />as specified within the Gilpin County Fee Schedule. <br />2. Two (2) copies of a site plan which shows: 1) the proposed location of <br />the sign; 2) the location of any detached sign illumination; 3) distances <br />to suu~ounding driveways, buildings and parking lots; 4) distances to <br />neazest property lines and roadway centerlines; and 5) the width of the <br />adjacent road surface. <br />3. A letter of consent or signature on the application form from the land <br />owner if the applicant does not own the land or building where the sign <br />is to be located. <br />4. Two (2) copies of the plans, specifications and method of construction <br />of the sign and its supports, showing proposed dimensions, height, <br />materials, colors, proposed lighting and any other information needed <br />to calculate permitted sign area, height, type, placement or other <br />requirements of these regulations. <br />C. Determination of Compliance. After a sign permit application has been <br />detemmined to be complete, the County Planner shall determine its <br />compliance and consistency with the requirements, purposes, and standazds <br />of this Section. The County Planner shall approve, approve with conditions <br />or deny the applicafion. Said decision maybe appealed to the Boazd of <br />County Commissioners for review and detemmination pnrenant to the <br />variance and appeal process outlined within Section 8.8 below provided <br />said appeal is filed within fifteen (15) days of the County Planner's <br />decision. <br />Gilpin County Zoning Regulations 45 <br />
