G. Traffic Control 5iQn. Any sign or device erected or placed on a permanent of <br />tempozary basis within or adjacent to state or county matiright-of-way, by auy <br />agency of the State of Colorado or the county of Gilpin, or by any contractor <br />engaged in any public road maintenance or construction activities, provided such <br />sign or device is erected or placed in the interest ofpublic safety. <br />A. Political Signs. Sigus which do not exceed six (~ square feet in azea that <br />announce the candidacy for election to various governmental offices or state a <br />political position concerning political issues may be placed on private properly, <br />with the permission of the landowner and located a distance at least tea (10} feet <br />from the edge of the traveled portion of any adjacent roadway. Said signs maybe <br />increased in size to up to twelve (12) squaze feet if located a distance greater thaw <br />fifty (50) feet from the edge of the traveled portion of any adjacent roadway. <br />Political Signs shall not be illuminated and shall be removed within seven (7) <br />days after the day of the election to which they pertain. <br />Gilpin County Zoning Regulations 44 <br />
