(w) Custom Home shall mean a detached single-family dwelling, which is <br />.individually designed and constructed to fit the unique requirements of both the <br />site and the intended owner. <br />1.704 - D <br />(a) Day Care Facility shall mean an establishment where core or supervision is <br />provided on a less than twenty-four (24) hour per day basis, including but not limited <br />to care or supervision provided to children and elderly. The Day Care Facility shaft <br />be licensed according fo applicable State laws. <br />(b) Decision shall mean a action which requires the exercise of judgment, <br />deliberation, or action on the part of the decision-making authority in the process <br />of approving or disapproving a particular activity, as distinguished from situations <br />where the decision-making authority merely has to determine whether there has <br />been wnformity with applicable statues, ordinances, or regulations. <br />(c) Decision-Making Authority shall mean an individual or body vested with the <br />authority to make recommendations or act on application requests. The final <br />decision-making authority is the one which has the authority to act on a request by <br />approving or denying it. <br />(d) Defensible Space shall mean that area surrounding structures where clearing of <br />vegetation and~or combustibles could save a dwelling on site during a wildfire. <br />(e} Density shall mean the measure of the ratio of population to the area of land <br />occupied by that population, which may be expressed as dwelling unit(s). <br />(f) Development shall mean any activity or alteration of the landscape, its terrain, <br />contour, or vegetation, including the erection or alteration of buildings or structures. <br />(g) Director shall mean the Director of the Community Development Deparhnent of <br />the County. <br />(h) District shall mean a geographic area witfiin the County within which certain <br />zoning or development regulations apply. <br />(i) Drink Soles shall mean an establishment required to obtain an alcohol license, <br />which allow on-site sale of beer, wine and~or spirits. <br />(j) Drinking Establishments shall mean those establishments required to obtain an <br />alcohol license, which allow the on-site sale and consumption of alcoholic <br />beverages. <br />(k) Drive-in Use shall mean an establishment in which the principal use, by design, <br />physical facilities, or service, permits customers to receive services, obtain goods, or <br />be entertained while remaining in their motor vehicles. <br />Gilpin County Zoning Regulations 11 <br />
