4. APPLICATION FORM:
The application for mining and reclamation permit
is enclosed with the required data.
5. SURFACE OWNER OF AFFECTED LAND:
The area involved by this application is owned by
Mr. Harley T. Jackson. A copy of our lease agreement
with Mr. Jackson is enclosed.
6. SUBSURFACE RIGHTS OF AFFECTED LAND:
The subsurface rights for this area are also owned
by Mr. Harley T. Jackson.
MINING"PLAN:
A. GENERAL PROPOSAL:
We plan to mine the natural sand and gravel
deposit from the proposed pit, crush, process and
stockpile the resulting aggregates at the site. The
processed aggregates will be removed from the pit
area as demand requires.
Our use of the aggregates will be for the construction
of the aforementioned highway project, both as granular
bases and select borrow.
B. THE CRUSHER PLAN:
The crusher, which will process the sand and
gravel that is removed from the pit will be located
on this property. It will not be a permanent crushing
operation but operated as the demand necessitates.
We will haul the sand and gravel to the crusher from
the deposit with trucks. During hauling operations
a water truck and motor grader will be utilized to
keep the haul road maintained and dust at an absolute
minimum. Also adequate noise abatement equipment
will be employed with the crushing equipment.
Our initial move-in and start-up on this pit will be
at the location shown. The gravel will be mined the
full depth. In this manner, the reclamation can be
done as the mining progresses.
C. THE PIT OPERATION:
_~ The overburden will be removed and stockpiled
from the area of the pit exposing the natural sand
and gravel deposit. Because much of the sand and
gravel deposit lies below the water table, a sump
/~^,~~o -~ dewatering operation will be used in the pit. A dike
will be constructed between the Gunnison River (shown
in blue) and the pit area which will be a minimum of
fifty feet in width. At that time, the material can
be loaded into the trucks with a front end loader, for
