eh <br />ESPEY, HUSTON 8 ASSOCIATES, INC. <br /> <br />2.4.3 Oil and Gas <br />The potential for the discovery of oil and gas from the Williams Fork <br />Formation is very slight. Numerous deep holes, some to neaz 3,000 feet, have been <br />drilled for coal development without any indication of hydrocazbons, gas or other <br />minerals. <br />The Wilson Creek and Ninemile oil and gas fields aze located within 4 <br />miles of Northern Coal Company's mine plan azea. These fields produce from <br />formations (Dakota, Morrison and Sundance) which underlie the Williams Fork <br />Formation from 9,400 to 10,000 feet. <br />No oil or gas wells aze on record or are known to have been drilled within <br />the azea of the mine plan azea outlined in this application. <br />• A 6-inch underground natural gas pipeline crosses Northern Coal <br />Company's leases along the northern half of sections 21 and 22. The pipeline is <br />operated by Western Slope Gas Company, a subsidiary of Public Service of Colorado, <br />Inc. <br />2.5 WATER WELLS (783.25(j)) <br />Water well information can be found in Chapter G, Hydrology. <br /> <br />F-20 <br />
