• Cca (15-60") white (lOYR 8/2) sandy clay loam, light gray <br />(lOYR 7/2) moist; weak, fine granular structure; slightly <br />hard, very friable, nonsticky, strongly calcareous, <br />moderately alkaline (pH 7.4), 5 percent gravel; clear <br />wa~~y boundary. <br />Range in Characteristics: The profile is 5 to 20 percent <br />coarse fragments 1/4 inch to 10 inches in diameter. Reaction <br />ranges neutral to moderately alkaline. Depth to a continuous <br />horizon of secondary calicium carbonate and sulfate ranges from <br />10 to 60 inches. <br />Setting: The Morset soil is found on old high nearly level <br />terraces. <br />Type Location: 1550 feet east and 550 feet south of inter- <br />section of Sections 3, 4, 9 and 10. <br />Fleutsch sandy loam, 2 to 10 percent slopes (11) <br />• The Fleutsch series are deep, nearly level to moderately <br />sloping soils, found on old alluvial fans. <br />The Fleutsch series is a member of the fine loamy mixed family <br />of Borollic Haplargids. The surface layer is a pale brown sandy <br />loam about 6 inches thick. The upper part of the subsoil is brown <br />heavy sandy loam about 9 inches thick, and the lower part is light <br />olive brown sandy clay loam about 20 inches thick. The underlying <br />material is light yellowish brown sandy loam. <br />The Fleutsch series formed in calcareous alluvium from sand- <br />stone and shale.
