Setting: The Tiagos soil follows upland drainageways. In <br />• the area of Pit 2 the Tiagos e•oil has a big sagebrush cover of <br />greater than 158. <br />Type Location: 2100 feet east and 700 feet of the w; corner <br />of Sections 9 and 10. <br />Morset loam, 0 to 2 percent slopes (10) <br />The Morset series are deep, nearly level to level soils found <br />on old high terraces. <br />The Morset series is a member of the fine-loamy mixed family <br />of Argic Cryoborolls. Morset soil in the area of Pit 2 has a <br />yellowish brown, sandy loam, soft friable, slightly sticky, moderate <br />medium granular A horizon. The argillic B is yellowish brown sandy <br />loam with a subangular blocky structure. The subsoil is a calcareous <br />light yellowish brown and white sandy loam and sandy clay loam. <br />• The Morset Series formed in calcareous outwash. They are <br />well drained soils. Runoff is medium. <br />Typifying pedon, Morset Loam: <br />A-1 (0-4") - brown and dark brown (lOYR 4/3) sandy loam, very <br />dark grayish brown (lOYR 3/2) moist; single grain to weak <br />fine granular structure; soft, very friable, slightly <br />sticky; many fine and medium roots; 5 percent gravel; <br />neutral (pH 6.8), clear smooth boundary. <br />B2t (4-9") - yellowish brown (lOYR 5/4) sandy loam, brown and <br />dark brown (lOYR 4/3) moist; moderate medium subangular <br />blocky structure; slightly hard, firm, sticky; few fine <br />and medium roots; 5 percent gravel; neutral (pH 6.9), clear <br />wavy boundary. <br />Baca (9-15") light yellowish brown (lOYR 6/4) sandy loam, yellow- <br />ish brown (lOYR 5/4) moist; moderate medium, subangular <br />blocky structure; slightly hard, firm, slightly sticky, <br />strongly calcareous; neutral (pH 7.3) clear wavy boundary. <br />• <br />-15- <br />
