<br />ment, retorting, processing, use, or dispoeition. As used herein, the term
<br />°related products" shall, in no event, include oil shale.
<br />WIT105SETH:
<br />Sec. 1. Rights of lessee. (a) The lessor, except as otherwise provided in
<br />this lease, does hereby grant and lease to the lessee the exclusive right
<br />sad privilege, to mine, extract, process, beneficiate, use, and dispose of
<br />all the leased deposits in the Saline Zone in or under the following-
<br />described tracts of land, situated in the County of Rio Blanco, State of
<br />Colorado:
<br />Section 13: All (includes lots 1,2,3,4,5,6,7,8,51/2)
<br />Section 14: All (includes lots 1,2,3,4,5,6,7,8,51/2)
<br />Section 15: E1/2, SE1/4NW1/4, SW1/4
<br />Section 21: NE1/4xE1/4, S1f2NE1/4, NE1f4SWlf4, SE1/b
<br />Section 22: NW1/4SW1/4, S1/2SW1/4
<br />All in Township 1 South, Range 96 West, 6th Principal Meridian
<br />containing 2196.14 ac:•es, more or less, together with the right, subiect to
<br />the applicable regvlat.ions and the requirements imposed thereunder, to con-
<br />struct sll such works, buildings, plants, structures, and appliances as may
<br />be necessary or convenient for the mining, processing, end preparation of
<br />the leased deposits for market and the housing and xelfare of employees and,
<br />• subject to the conditions herein provided, to use so much of the surface as
<br />i may reasonably be required in the exercise of the rights and privileges
<br />herein granted for a period of 20 years from the effective date of this
<br />lease, and the lessee :shall have a preferential right to renew this lease
<br />for successive periods of 10 years under such reasonable terms and conditions
<br />as may be prescribed by the Secretary of the Interior, unless otherwise
<br />provided by law at the expiration of any period as provided in Sec. 3(d)
<br />hereof.
<br />(b) Except as expressly provided in subsections 1(c), (d), and (e),
<br />the lessee shall not (].} mine, extract, retort, process, use, or dispose of
<br />arty oil shale, or organic matter or the products thereof contained in or
<br />derived from any such oil shale, situated above or below the Saline Zone in
<br />the above-described tracts of land, (2) mine, extract, retort, process, use,
<br />or dispose of arty 25 G.P.T. Oil Shale, or organic matter or the products
<br />thereof contained in or derived from any such 25 G.P.T. Oil Shale, situated
<br />in said Saline Zone, or (3) use, remove from the leased premises or dispose
<br />of'eny oil shale, or organic matter or the products thereof contained in or
<br />derived from any such oil shale, averaging more than 10 gallons of shale
