COLORADO DEPARTMEM IIE'ALTH, Water Quality Control Divisoor.
Rationale, Amendment No. 1 Page 3 Permit No. CO-0027154
V. DISCUSSION OF AhfENDMENT.• (Continued]
• contributions of mine drainage inter xnuld be minimal for pond F and outfall 007, the
Division has determined that monitoring for silver will continue at this discharge. However,
if future silver concemrations should occur at higher concentrations, then the Division will
includt limitations for potentially dissolved silver for outfall 007 (which would be the same as
the silver limitations for outfa11005).
In summary, the Division has reviewed the tin requesu jar this amendment, and has
determined that these two moderations are appropriate to include in this permit. Thus, Pan
I.B.I. of the permit (page Ij) has been accordingly modified for outfal1005 so that self-
monitoring samples shall be taken in the culverts prior to the e_Qluent flow measuring device.
There has been no change in the permit regarding outfaU 007, since the permit language
does not spec fually indicate the contributing wastewater sources so this discharge.
Since the changes in this amendmem are considered sign foam, public notice requiremems
are applicable.
Don Hobner
August 27, 1993

•
