• Buildinps. Existing buildings include a cinder block building (16' x 32') to be used as a <br />conference and training facility, a metal shop building (33' x 45') to be used as a warehouse, a <br />cinder block storage building (25' x 90') also to be used for warehousing, a foremans trailer <br />(10'w x 37'I x 8'h), a parts semi-truck trailer (8'w x 40'I x 8'h), apre-engineered metal-frame- <br />metal clad repair shop (52' x 85') with outside equipment wash pad, an oil separator that is <br />attached to the wash pad to separate oil from the wash water, a 10'x10' furnace room attached <br />to the north end of the repair shop, ametal-frame-metal clad bath house 24' x 34'), and a fuel <br />and tube oil storage and pump facility consisting of storage vessels contained inside a lined <br />earthen berm that will contain the volume from the largest vessel plus the 10yr-24hr rainfall <br />event, and a frame house (24' x 40') in use as the mine office all located at the New Horizon 2 <br />facilities area. Map 2.05.3-1 shows the locations of the existing buildings. <br />Waste Water. Sewage from the existing and proposed buildings will be disposed of through <br />proposed and existing sanitary sewer lines discharging into a sewer main on Lincoln Street <br />which is owned by the Nucla Sanitary District. Waste water from the equipment wash will be <br />recirculated and reused; however, if there is any excess waste water, it will be run through a <br />sediment trap and an oil water separator and discharged to Pond 007 via a natural drainage <br />and the 007 East Ditch. <br />Domestic Water. Potable water will be provided through a water line tied into the Town of <br />Nucla water system. <br />Solid Wastes. Solid waste will be picked up by the local waste disposal contractor for disposal <br />in the Montrose County Sanitary Landfill. The land fill operates under the guidelines stipulated <br />by the State of Colorado and is solely owned, operated and maintained by the Counties of <br />Montrose and San Miguel. Solid wastes not suitable for disposal at the landfill will be <br />transported to and disposed of in suitable, licensed facilities under the applicable Federal and <br />State regulations. When practicable, solid wastes will be separated for recycling. <br />Explosive Storape. No explosive storage facilities are contemplated for the New Horizon <br />Mine. Blasting will be carried out by a licensed independent contractor who will own and <br />maintain explosive storage facilities off-site and transport explosives to the mine site as needed. <br />The contractor may maintain small field magazines on the mine site, but no explosives will be <br />stored at the mine overnight. <br />Fuel Storape. Two above-ground fuel tanks will be utilized. A tank of approximately 12,000 <br />gallons capacity will be used for diesel and a tank of approximately 1,000 gallons capacity will <br />be used for gasoline storage. Both tanks will be located at the fuel and lubricant storage and <br />(REVISED 12100) 2.05.3(3) - 27 <br />
