It developed from highly <br />saline-sodic mixed alluvium on low terraces and valley floors. Small areas of <br />Turley, Billings and Nihill soils ware included in :napping. These soils occupy <br />less than 15 percent of the mapping unit. <br />In a typical profile, the surface layer is very pale brown light loam or <br />fine sandy loam about 2 inches thick. 'The subsoil 'Horizons are sodic light <br />yellowish brown to very pale brown clay loam, silty clay loam or silt loam about <br />17 inches thick. 'f he substratum is light yellowish brown to very pals brown loam, <br />silt loan or fine sandy loan to a depth of 60 inches or more. <br />The Uffens soil has moderately slow permeability and slow runoff. The erosion <br />hazard is moderate. Available waterholding capacity is moderate.
